I watched “The Secret” movie almost 9 years ago for the first time. I was in the worst phase of my life; dumped by my boyfriend, studying at a university which I did not like and I had conservative parents who I felt did not understand me. I had so many dreams that I wanted to achieve, but considering my resources and my own meek personality, I thought there was no way I could achieve those dreams.

After I watched ‘The Secret’ the very next moments were really enlightening. All those reservations about myself, blaming others for my failures, just vanished. This was the moment when I felt like, that’s it, and now my new life begins.

I started writing down things that I wanted, improvements within myself, visualizing happy situations which brought a smile on my face, a great partner, and everything I wanted to be.

It took a year. I started working hard towards applying for universities I liked. I did get accepted at some good colleges of my choice. My boyfriend called me and apologized and we are back together. He came back to me as a much better person, in fact, we are married now. This gap of a year made us much more sensible, appreciating each other more and making our relationship stronger.

I was then in a phase of applying for jobs, when I wrote myself a cheque for a pay scale at least 30% industry standard. I received a job which was not that, it was below industry standards. However, after that post I received another opportunity and it was more than double the industry norms! They hired me because of my experience at my previous role. Again, an experience where I believed in and had trust what what the Universe and God gives is for the best.

The major awesome moment for me was when I got an opportunity to move to another country. I had always wanted to move to another country and experience western culture since I was a kid. My parents never supported this. I was told by fortune tellers that I would never ever live in another country. I know, I know, but most people in my culture and country do believe in fortune tellers. But I was more determined and I kept my desire and efforts going. And today I am at a place I really love and enjoying life. I am thanking the Universe and God every moment for my belief and determination.

From that moment on after learning The Secret, I forgave everyone who I thought was stopping me from achieving my dreams. It gave me an ultimate peace of mind. It is a new life for me and now I know that the only person stopping me will be myself. But that will not happen because I know The Secret now.

I wanted to write this for a long time. I really want to thank Rhonda and The Secret team for helping me to believe in myself and the Universe, to think beyond possibilities and to focus on what I really want and go ahead and grab it.
