The Villa

New Delhi, IndiaLife is what you make it to be...
I have always practiced The Secret long before the book came out. It was by chance that I discovered that whatever I wanted, truly wanted, came to me in the most unexpected time and the least expected moment. When I read The Secret years later, I took it as a confirmation that I was on the right path.
A few years ago, I was visiting my cousin. Her husband took me to a golf course he was developing. There were some housing units along the golf course that were just spectacular. I fell in love with the house the minute I stepped in. But the prices were sky high, and I was still a student with no income. But right then I knew that I wanted to own a villa. Spacious and cozy at the same time, with a view of the golf course.
The feeling I had when I went inside that villa never left me. I had a fair idea of what I wanted.
Fast forward six years, and I got back in touch with an old classmate who heard that I was looking to invest in property. Being in the Real State Business himself, he offered to show me some very good investment properties around Delhi. The first place he showed me… yes, a villa on a golf course. The location was great and the price was much lower than what could be expected of a massive four bedroom villa, but even so, it was still out of my reach. I asked my parents if they wanted to buy it instead, since they too were hunting for a house to settle in after my father retired from the Army. They loved it but felt it posed practical problems for my mother, who cannot climb stairs without difficulty.
It pained me a little to see my dream house come to me and having to reject it. But the dream never ended.
Then, weeks later, one fine day my father asked if I wanted to buy a home along with him. I, of course, jumped at the opportunity, and now we are working towards filling in the paper work that will make us the proud owners of MY dream villa.
