As I write this story, I am in tears of complete gratitude and appreciation for Rhonda Byrne, The Universe, God and my dear friend for bringing The Secret into my life.

In 2012, I had to give up my dream job with the U.S. Federal Government and relocate back home for family reasons. After taking a government job that was half the salary of my dream job just to get me back home, I ended up accepting another federal job with higher pay but it was still not my dream job.

After a few months, I realized that I was not happy because I truly missed working in the environment that I studied for in college, international business. Additionally, the employees were very negative, full of envy, extremely unhappy with themselves, very competitive and full of resentment due to their own past experiences. It was a daily struggle for my personal growth and I was challenged on a daily basis about my faith and strength.

But I did not give up. I could not give up. I kept saying to myself that I will be rewarded for my decision to come home and it will all work out. I was practicing The Secret and didn’t even know it back then. But still another year went by and no other opportunities became available.

In early 2013, a friend introduced me to The Secret DVD and it changed my life forever.

After watching it, I realized how negative I was in my thoughts and actions. I literally broke into hives because I never saw myself as a negative person. So I began to really focus on the meaning of the law of attraction and purchased the The Secret Daily Teachings to help remold my mind into a positive thinking person. Both have been a blessing ever since.

I wrote down what I wanted, believed I deserved it and acted as if I already had want I wanted, including my dream job.

About four months ago, a position for my dream job with the U.S. Government became available and was a position for my home town. I would not have to relocate again. I applied for the job within the week and I knew I was going to get an interview.

A few weeks passed when I got the idea from another writer from this section to print out the agency website. I added my picture and my cell phone number to help me manifest my dream job. I made copies and put it in my office, my car, bedroom, and bathroom; even in my purse. Every time I looked at it, I affirmed to myself it’s on it way!

About two months past and I hadn’t heard anything and doubt began to set in. I learned from The Secret that I have to replace doubt with unwavering faith of “I know, like I know, like I know it, that my dream job is on its way!”

But still nothing, even though I knew that jobs with the U.S. Federal Government take a long time to process. I went back to The Secret website and read other stories from those that got their dream jobs for encouragement. It wasn’t until I read a story from a writer that said creating a vision board and writing down what they wanted did not work for them. I wish I could find the writer to give them thanks, as their statement also changed my life forever.

It was like a bolt of lightning from the universe had struck me when I read these words, copied from the writers’ story: “Surrender yourselves to the Universe. Believe in your heart that the universe will never betray you.”

At that moment, it was like a light bulb went off in my head. I realized I was
“over-manifesting” so I took down all copies of the agencies website with my picture on it and threw them away. I said to myself that I know that the universe will not betray me and went on with my day.

Two days later, I got an interview for the following Monday!

The interview went extremely well. I was confident, comfortable and the questions were easy to answer. I hit the interview out of our solar system. The agency said I would hear from them by Friday since they still had others to interview.

During my lunch hour on that Thursday, something told me to check my email and I had a tentative offer for the position!!! I was in shock and numb at the same time that my dream job was finally here.

I started my dream job again, with the same federal agency as when I first had to relocate, but this time here at home and I can give back to my community. I feel like I am the most fortunate girl in the universe and I was so thrilled to get back into international business for the U.S. Government.

I now know the right way for me to ask for what I want and then let it go. It works every time.

To this day, I still listen to The Secret DVD every time I am getting ready for work. It’s my morning coffee to help me rejuvenate my positive energy, reinforce and etch into my brain that anything is possible, if I believe. And, I certainly do.
