So my story is that one day I was reading a sex education book. It was a proper guide without much vulgarity. It is written by Ashley Lopez. Do you know what is described in that book?

It said that in order to maintain a healthy relationship with your partner you must first take care of yourself because to care for anyone it is necessary to have self-care first. You can not pour from an empty cup and keeping your cup empty is not a favor to your partner, it is a drawback. Romance is based on your health and keeping yourself healthy. So taking care of yourself is necessary. In order to do that you must know yourself and love yourself. It also says to express gratitude for the little things in your relationship as it enhances your partner and your relationship. So being grateful for little things should not be forgotten. The book also says to not hold grudges against each other, to keep calm, and try to forgive and forget. To give space to your partner to make mistakes and improve themself. Healthy relationships lead to a healthy romantic life.

I never expected that kind of ‘soul love theory’ to be the main basis for having a healthy relationship and for this to be found in a sex education guide.

Then, lo and behold! All the things I just spoke of were also mentioned in your book, The Secret. Found in the chapter of The Secret about Relationships.

I am realizing that self-love is really so important! In order to be loved, you have to love yourself first as you cannot pour anything out from an empty cup.
