In 2009 I applied to join a university for my masters degree. At some point the money that I had set aside for fees was used up by another project. Without any money for fees I did not even look forward to receiving my letter of admission.

In October 2009 the university informed me that I had been admitted for the course I had applied for. For the security of the admission letter they asked me whether I wanted to collect the letter in person or have it posted. Since I had no hope of joining the university because of fees, I did not care whether the letter got to me at the right time or not.

The letter was posted and actually got to two weeks to the reporting date. The only option left for me was to defer for a whole year. In my frustration a friend, who has since passed on, gave me the book, ‘The Secret’. One week to the reporting date I decided to apply the principles learnt – the law of attraction.

Out of the ksh 54,000 required, a friend who knew what I was going through gave me ksh 44,000 without me having to request it. I joined the university.

In public universities it is not usual for one to complete a masters degree within the stipulated 2 years. Again I decided to apply The Secret and I completed in 2 years to the surprise of many. I live by The Secret!
