My Dream Paralegal Program
To know a story you have to start with the beginning.
The date was October 16, 2011. I had just graduated college in May and applied for job after job. Not knowing quite what I wanted to do, I became depressed, angry, and I felt alone. I did not want to be stuck in my parents’ home forever. It seemed like everyone around me had their life together. “How did they do it?” I wondered aloud, looking out the window on a deary October day. Just like the opening of The Secret my life collapsed around me, and I worked myself into exhaustion.
Then it hit me like a light. I didn’t want to do medical translation as I previously thought. My mom’s friend had told me about an excellent paralegal program. There was one catch, however. I knew that I had struggled in college and did not have the GPA necessary to get into the program. I was only a quarter of a point off for what the program required. I pulled out The Secret and visualized myself among the students on campus. I had to be there and wanted to be there. There was no other choice. I visualized and wrote down what I was thankful for every day.
The day finally came when it was time to put my application in. My family, though, they believed in me, were also preparing me in case it did not work out. Then I got the email that changed my life. It was an “aha” moment.
Thank you so much for everything, Rhonda, and your amazing Secret team.
To those students out there who are not sure that they can make it into their dream school or program, I am proof of this. I hope that my story inspires people to dream and dream big!
