The Secret And The Power.
Submitted by: David Hamilton
Vernon Hills, ILI am a Veteran of the US Navy and a loving father to a funny, smart, fun-loving 8 year old boy who makes me realize "The Secret" every day. With my military background, I am able to keep the values of hard work and dedication essential to living my life and believing I can accomplish anything I put my mind to.
So, I have re-discovered The Secret again after a few years of being off the grid. I guess you can call it that. After owning and watching the documentary, now in stunning HD, and listening to The Power by Rhonda, my life is starting to become what I have always wanted it to be.
I have been thinking of things I want like seeing particular numbers just for the fun of it, to parking spaces because I want to be close to the entrance of either my apartment building or my part-time job. I have also been thinking about my recent request to have an interview for a full-time job so I can have a financially stable life as I learn about life coaching and other passions I want to pursue as a career. I am really focusing on the future. It is all about feeling good, feeling gratitude, and believing you are worthy of your desires. You just have to ask and ‘work’ for it.
I will give an example of a good thing and then a bad thing when it comes to manifesting. I will start with the bad, just to get it out of the way.
I was working a double shift at my job at a well known and established fitness facility as a lifeguard and swim instructor. I started out as the only lifeguard for the morning and mid afternoon when families were in the pool. When families aren’t in, I am able to work on other projects to keep the aquatics area running smoothly. The manager said he was not feeling well and had to take off for the day. I said, “Thank you. I hope you feel better soon.” After that family, after family, after family came in and there was no other coverage. I was starting to get annoyed and frustrated that it was like that for the next 4 hours. That negative feeling carried on until I finally punched out to go home. I am thankful that I wasn’t hungry or had to use the facilities, but it would have been nice to be able to get some other things done, oh well.
So as I was driving home feeling relaxed, and looking forward to getting home and relaxing for the night, I got pulled over. I won’t go into the details, but in a nutshell, I was driving with expired license plates. I did have them renewed and was waiting for my new plates to arrive. At that time I was told that I could still drive with my old plates until the new ones came in.
The police officer who stopped me said that it was a misdemeanor because I told him that my registration was not in the car but no arrest was going to be made. Later, I realized I did have it in the car when I got home and looked through everything I had in my glove box! I took out everything I had in the glove box to look for it and low and behold, I did have my registration in the car all along. I still have to go to court but I will probably be in court for at the most, 10 minutes. That’s really not that bad.
Now for the good example: I have been looking for a full-time job for a few weeks now. I put it out to the Universe to manifest a full-time job so I could have the means to get my bills paid without any issues and fully contribute to society. This way I can still learn about my passions and and eventually make them my careers and income streams.
As my son and I were driving home, we approached a homeless family asking for help. I pulled out a little cash to give them. This gave me such a great feeling of love and gratitude that I nearly cried because I wanted to help those who were in need. The following day, I got an email requesting an interview for a job I had applied for. It was all because I gave love. You get more of what you give. I firmly believe that.
Many other things have happened but if I told all those stories, I would need a publisher to turn all of it into a novel. Life is good!
