Yesterday I was sitting outside of my apartment enjoying the beautiful sunny day and reading The Secret. I was in the section about visualization and had just finished reading the story about the man who visualized his perfect feather when something caught my eye. I looked over to my right and running across the fence was an adorable little squirrel carrying a branch full of acorns. Now I have always thoughts squirrels were adorable, and so I started to visualize having the squirrel come over and taking food out of my hand.

Today, the next day, I was on a bike ride and had stopped to have lunch in the park. I was sitting on a bench listening to my iPod when I felt something touch my leg. I looked down and there was a squirrel with his little paw on my leg. At first I was very startled, but then I remembered my thought from the day before about how I had visualized a squirrel allowing me to feed it. So I tore off a piece of the crust from my sandwich and gave it to him. He scurried off and I watched him eat the bread. He came back over a few times and hopped up on the bench, and I gave him a few more pieces of bread. My conscious fears kicked in a little bit, thinking about rabies or germs that me might be carrying, but then the thought and feeling came into my mind that I had drawn this squirrel into my universe, and he had no intention of causing me any harm. All the same I started to visualize him running off to the tree and leaving me alone. Within a few minutes he was gone.

Something so simple yet so powerful (and honestly unexpected) made me truly see and realize the power of the Secret. I have been practicing it in all my affairs over the past few weeks and it is amazing how much my life has turned around. I am extremely grateful for having found The Secret and harnessing it in my every day.
