The Perfect Job!
Submitted by: Susan P.
Northern CaliforniaI am a teacher and counselor.
For the past few years, I had a job I didn’t like. I wasn’t well utilized and I was bored and underpaid. I decided it was time to get a new job but I had no idea what I wanted.
A friend of mine asked what I was looking for and, after thinking about it for a moment, I said I wanted to be challenged, to have lots of responsibility, to make a lot of money, and to be in a beautiful setting. As I said the words out loud, a feeling of excitement and certainty came over me. I had asked and now I started to believe. I knew something was going to happen, although I didn’t have a clue what it was.
I kept this feeling alive and felt confident as I went to my old job I won’t be coming back here for long, I thought. Three days later, I was talking on the phone to a colleague about something completely unrelated and she told me about a job that sounded perfect for me. The job had been posted in only one place, and had she not told me about it I never would have found the listing on my own.
I applied and waited. And waited. When I got nervous that I wasn’t going to get an interview, I told myself, “This job or something even better is coming my way!” One morning I was feeling depressed that I hadn’t heard about an interview. I suspected the window of opportunity was closing and I became anxious. Then I settled my mind and told myself to relax, the right thing was on its way.
Fifteen minutes later I got a call for an interview, and then I knew the job was mine. I interviewed on a Tuesday and was told the committee would be making its decision on Friday. I was so grateful as I waited to hear. I figured I would get a call sometime after lunch on Friday and, lo and behold, the phone rang at 1:50 the job was mine!
This is truly my dream job, I will be really challenged, I will have a ton of responsibility, I’m going to make lots of money (double what I’ve ever made before), and it’s in the most beautiful setting you can imagine. Thank you Universe, and thank you Secret Team! Rhonda you are the best!
