The Most Inspiring Book Of My Life
Submitted by: VAIBHAV GARG
MALDIVESPeace, Passion and Perseverance are my three key values and I strongly believe in the power of The Secret and law of attraction.
I look upon my life as a book, and the people I love and situations I handle are like the rose petals kept in between the pages. Each time I turn a page of my life, I find a rose petal reminding me of beautiful memories, a beautiful person, and a beautiful encounter.
Referring to life as a book, well I personally enjoy reading at leisure be it magazines, articles, blogs or quotes. Books help me refresh my thoughts and instill my faith to connect with my philosophy as my actions are always inspired by my inner thought process.
To talk about the most inspiring book that I have read, well this is not a very difficult choice. The life changing book of my life is “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne. This book holds a very special place in my life and this is the only book I always keep with me at all times as it gives me inner strength and helps me elevate my life condition.
Getting nostalgic, let me take you back in 2008. Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai, where I first held this book and asked “will you share your secret?” Personally that was a stressful year as I was going through a tough time. It’s when one of my friends suggested that I read the book that changed his life too. His recommendation was so convincing that it made me go to the “In House Book Store” and buy it that very evening. It was then I first heard the whisper of “The Secret” which later changed my life and situations.
The Secret is just not a book for me, it’s my guide that mentors me each time I am in a situation of doubt. I recall an incident happened while I was in Delhi back in 2008, a friend and colleague of mine visited me and discovered “The Secret” on my table. She took a glance and asked me to take it with her with a promise to return it. I said no, which is very unlike me, and she got amazed with my response. I humbly mentioned that the book is special and I never give my copy to anyone. She found it very awkward and rude on my part to say no at that point in time.
After some days, she came to my office with a big smile and thanked me profusely. She had got “The Secret” too. She told me that she got it for herself that very evening when I denied her as after she left my office the thought of my saying “no” to her, for the book forced her to unveil The Secret about the book and how can it be a life changer. She said that after she started reading it, she could feel the difference at her home and work in terms of managing work life balance and maintaining personal and professional relationships with peace. I still remember she mentioned that initially she used to react to situations differently and thus resulting in more stress from both ends. After her insight into the law of attraction, she realized that stress will attract more stress and that if she stays calm that is what her signal would be to the universe to reflect peace back to her. This may seem a small incident but yes I agree with her, our thoughts shape up our lives and that’s how we nourish our souls. Each time thereafter we met we used to exchange our thoughts and experiences on how The Secret is working in our lives.
Personally when I look back, I feel contended and fulfilled that over those years of knowing The Secret, I’ve realized that problems do come in life and though I might have hit the bottom at times, I’ve always surfaced with a belief that happiness comes from the self, from our own thoughts that anchor our life. And that is how “The Secret” has truly inspired me. It has given me the inner strength which has allowed me to sail through all pains, sorrows and helping me getting over things.
