My husband and I were married for about 3 years when I wanted to start a family. At the time, he wasn’t ready to start a family. He thought we needed more time to get things squared away financially before bringing a little person into the world. This became a bit of a battle for us because I wanted a baby more than anything. I would say things like, “I don’t want to be 40 years old and taking my kid to Kindergarten. As I get older so do my eggs!”

Anyways, when we did start trying I was 31 years old, and we had our share of struggles. As it turned out, after the specialist ran some tests, he said that my eggs were older than my chronological age. He said that it may be harder for us to get pregnant. I eventually suffered 3 miscarriages. I was feeling hopeless, angry, sad – a whole range of emotions. Then we decided to adopt. If we couldn’t have our own, then maybe someone would feel we were worthy to raise their precious child as our own. We started the process and believed we were meant to be parents. I even painted/wall-papered the nursery in preparation. My whole outlook changed – I felt like one way or another I was going to be a mother.

Then a couple of months later I found out I was pregnant! We were so thrilled! Now, we are blessed with two beautiful baby girls, and I know it was because I was applying the Secret and didn’t know it. I just believed we were going to have a baby, I was preparing the room for the baby, and my outlook was positive. I’m going to be 40 and taking my child to Kindergarten, but who cares? I am so blessed to have my babies!
