I got my chemical engineering degree about two years ago. As soon as I finished university, I had no idea what I wanted to do. As everyone does, I started to send my resume to every possible company I found on web, also went to every job fair that came to town, talk to friends and family so they can help me find a job, an so on…

How ever, I didn’t know what I wanted to work at, since as a chemical engineer the most probable job is at a factory, or selling products and giving customer assistance. I knew I didn’t want that kind of job, but I didn’t know what I really liked! I spent so many days wondering what to do, meanwhile I worked at my parent’s office, doing something helpful, but I felt I could do something more, I could give so much more!

Days passed and I couldn’t find a job…nothing, nothing at all, all the offers where about commercial positions, and I hate selling things!!! I was hopeless, thought there was no job for me, nothing I really liked, that all I could find was a regular job with low salary…

More than a year passed, and nothing… I was in the same place, just sitting in front of the computer complaining about my life!!! So, suddenly, I remembered the book “The Secret”…an aunt gave it to me some months before, I read it and the same day decided to prove if it was true by thinking about something I was waiting to happen for about 6 years… that was my best friend telling me all his feelings about me…and you know? That day I proved it works!!! He called me that afternoon, and by night we were at a restaurant and he was telling me how much he loved me, and that he felt it for years!!!

As soon as I remembered “The Secret”, and I knew it worked, I decided not just to read the book, but feel The Secret, live The Secret, believe in The Secret… Every day I watched “The Secret to Riches” video, I read the stories on the web site every time I felt I was going down, I started thanking for everything I had, I woke up being grateful for everything I was and for my life, I was happy!!!

Then, one day, I found a very interesting job offer online, I didn’t know the company´s name, but I filled the requirements… so, as always, I sent my resume, not really waiting for a phone call, since I was using “The Secret” not in order to find a job, but just to feel good and happy every day.

About a month later, on Sunday afternoon (who calls for a job interview on Sunday afternoon???) I saw three missed calls on my phone. One of the calls was from my boyfriend, the others from unknown number. I never return calls to unknown numbers, but something inside me was telling me to call back. So I did. It was from the company with the nice job offer, they wanted to see me next day morning!!! So I went to the interview, it was ok, not so good, but the person told me about the job and I found it awesome!!! Suddenly I knew that was the job I wanted and the job I’ve been looking for so hard!!! And when I knew the name of the company I was shocked, it was the company I’ve always wanted to work at!!!!

They told me to wait about a week so they could analyze my resume, and if it worked for them they will call me back. One week, two weeks, three weeks…nothing… But as soon as I went out from the interview I promised myself to practice “The Secret” so I could get that job before December 31st 2009… I made a file in my computer that opened every day, with a picture of me filling the position I wanted, with a paragraph telling me I will get the job and I will be happy at it. I asked, I believed, I was ready to receive!!! So I sent a mail asking for the results of the interview, and they told me “Sorry, we already choose someone else, but thank you”….

I wasn’t sad…come on, The Secret always works!!! Somehow I knew it wasn’t the end!!! That night I went to church and left all my life and dreams in God´s hands…I believe in God, and so I went to pray, not really asking for the job, just…pray…

Next day I opened my mail, and you wouldn’t believe what I found…a mail from the company, telling me they had decided to take me back into the job selection process!!! Next weekend they sent me some online test which didn’t go well, it was hard but I kept practicing “The Secret” and believing… Two weeks later I got a call, the boss wanted to interview me!!!

I was confident about myself and my desire in the interview…I wasn’t nervous, and I felt great!!! I was worried about my experience, because they were looking for someone with about 4 years of experience in a specific field, and I had less than 2 years of work experience and not in the field they required… I told that to the boss, but also said I was willing to learn whatever they needed and I was capable to understand and learn quickly considering my career.

December 22nd I got a call…Human Resources person from the company told me I got the job!!!!!!!!!! I was sooooooo happy!!!!!! My mom was with me and we cried together!!!! And the payment, it was so much more I could imagine!!!!!!!

I have to go next Thursday to sign the contract, and begin January 18th 2010… and I´m sure I´ll be happy at my new dreamed job, I´m sure I´ll learn a lot and I´ll meet new people!!!!!

So, I´m a believer… I asked, I believed, I received… and I´m happy!!!!
