So I have been seeking and searching for The Secret my entire life. I believed that there is a way to shortcut stuff my entire life and I have been looking for answers everywhere. I was looking to validate the Bible as an example. As someone not very Christian, there are things that stood out to me. Like. if you had the faith of a mustard seed, you would be able to move mountains, or, what you fear, you will become.

I also found that all the opposites in life are also true. There is an opposite to everything. positive, negative, and so on. So if the Bible says that what you fear will become prominent in your life, then the opposite of that is also true. That that you desire without fear and with faith, will also be yours. So it was easy to say that those who believe in God should believe the Bible and should take those words as fact, as believed. And by faith, it becomes true. as such I have realized that all religions are good for you. As long as you believe, you are good and it is right because you believe in it. Anyway, this story is not about any specific religion but I had to share that as it was a part of my journey.

When I started working, I was earning R3600 a month which is not much. But each year, I said at least once this year, I want to earn x amount, and each year I achieved that. Not knowing the limits and with faith, and no fear, I set a final target in year 6 to earn R100K at least once that year. The previous year was R50K. which back then was a lot of money for a 24 year old. Anyway. year six just like every year before, I did it again. I got bonuses, profit share, overtime, mileage claims, and in the final year, also a payout of my pension fund which after tax, cleared to R104k that went into my account.

Unknowing, I applied The Secret to achieve all this. Remember that I have been looking for this my entire life, so being positive, optimistic, and expecting stuff to happen my way has always been a thing.

I moved to America. To California, Long Beach, to be specific. Oddly, I have dreamed of living in Los Angeles my entire life since watching Police Academy movies, being upset for not living there, and wow. I was there and I had never been there before. Again I achieved what I would consider an almost impossible coincidence, especially when you consider the amount of money I managed to earn before as a young adult.

Then fear set in. I could no longer see an opportunity for growth. Life seemed limited and guess what? Things became limited. A fixed monthly income with no movement. Don’t get me wrong, it was not bad. Earning $9800 a month I could not complain but it was pretty slow growth annually.

Fast forward a few years and I lost everything. I stopped asking for what I wanted and was afraid of losing it all and so I did. I started over with zero. I went for a job and I said that if I can only get X amount I would be so grateful. Guess what? I got exactly what I asked for. I tried to ask for more and they said no.

Two years later, I and my wife sat one night saying, wouldn’t it be great to live in Durban, South Africa? I kid you not, 2 days later I got called for an opening in South Africa, and was I willing to relocate?! Wow, the Universe really responds quickly! I told my wife once when she was upset with her boss to just get another job. She said that would take weeks or months. I said nonsense, just try. The next day she was sitting there with a new offer in her hand for a new job!

Anyway, a year later I was traveling for work and we were driving to the other offices and we again said, wouldn’t it be great if I got transferred to this office? Days later I got an offer to move and become the site manager at the new offices. Crazy stuff!

I then started looking for another job but again limiting myself, I set a low target. And guess what? I got exactly what I asked for. Then months later I asked for more and I got more.

Then, 3 years later, this year, I asked for a ridiculous salary and a new job, and guess what? I got exactly what I asked for again! And only then did I finally discover The Secret! And now I can tell you all in hindsight that if I had known this before, I would have set even higher more ridiculous targets because I now truly believe that anything is possible. I only finished reading the book this week. So I am now aiming for the moon!! I am just a normal person without a degree and I can tell you with confidence that nothing is impossible. Just ask, believe and receive. Amazing!! So when I read the book, I confirmed what I already knew but never had any firm confirmation on it. Also, I didn’t know about the feeling part so I will try to add that to my new journey.

Do not limit yourself. You, me, and everyone on this planet are equal beings so no one is exceptional to anyone else. We can all get what we want. Just believe in yourself. I once said that I am my own God. I do not know if this upsets anyone but I really felt that some people miss the fact that you are in control of your life and you are in control of your destiny. No one else is coming to give you more than you are asking for. Ask the Universe and you shall receive. Amazingly simple, yet many are too skeptical to think it can be true. I have researched things my entire life and I have found people believing and saying things I found out somewhere else, and I was like, how do they know that? I knew it but I did not know that so many others knew it too. It is just amazing!

I also heard someone say once that seeing is believing and by believing one sees. I am not into those little daily inspiration notes, but this one stuck with me. And once you believe, then you too shall see.
