I have always believed that animals choose you rather than the other way round. 2017 was a year mixed with joy and frustration with many changes and challenges. I had taken up my childhood passion of horse riding 4 years previous, exercising a friends horse before finding my own horse to ride. As he was an older horse when I took him on, our time was limited before I retired him. I began to look for a new horse as I had an ambition to push my skills and to compete.

At this point, my life began to become increasingly difficult. I had not discovered The Secret at this stage. At the start of 2018 my world felt in turmoil when I heard about a horse I had admired for some time. He had been for sale for sometime but had only come to my attention when a friend mentioned him. I tentatively went to try him with the view that I didn’t see it working out but I was curious. He did not put a foot down wrong. The owners were very kind and allowed me to try him out over a number of occasions and at lessons. I was pretty sure that at first session that he would be mine. But as my situation was not ideal at the time, I was unsure if owning a second horse was ideal, and with money tight it seemed an impossible dream. At a later date I rode out alone and told Barney the horse that he would be mine. I explained everything about his new home to him in detail.

The next day everything fit effortlessly and seamlessly together. The money, the move and he instantly hit it off with my retired horse. That was 4 weeks ago and he feels like a friend I have known all my life. We constantly receive kind comments about our partnership and the fun we have together and I look forward to our future ahead. It was just meant to be. He found me.

I have since watched The Secret and realised I had put the principles into practice naturally. The Secret has now opened my eyes to applying these principles every day in my life and filling my life with joy.
