After years of poor health, over work, a burn-out, and dealing with a floundering business that is on the verge of bankruptcy, I decided to cast off my skeptical attitude and read the book that the whole world seems to be buzzing about. I had a lot of people who know me well raise an eyebrow! Not because they were as skeptical as me, but because everyone knows how skeptical I am (was)!

It was a Monday when I started to read The Secret, and I was intrigued. The law of attraction is science, so I started thinking… “There is nothing to be sceptical about”, “This is fascinating”! By page 10, I was already resigned to think positive thoughts, be grateful for everything and everyone in my life, and to make a change…

I then thought, hey it’s Monday and I have an appointment with the eye specialist on Wednesday. Let’s see if this “secret” works!

I needed to see an eye specialist as my eyesight that has always been good started deteriorating rapidly over the last months. I had already seen the optician and he measured my left eye at -0.5 and my right eye at -1.5, not really terrible but a rapid deterioration considering just a few months ago, my eyes were measure to be -0.25 and 0.50. His main concern however was high pressure in my right eye which is also the eye in which my sight has deteriorated the fastest. A concern and possibly a sign of glaucoma was his conclusion..
Therefore I made an appointment with a specialist.

From Monday to Wednesday, I saw myself reading clearly, and having no more discomfort in my right eye (which was troubling me for some time). I woke up on Wednesday morning and said, I don’t NEED to see that specialist because my eyes are perfect! But the hospital has been recently renovated and thought that this would be a nice chance to see how it turned out.

Imagine the surprise of Mr. Cynic (as I am known to many friends) when the eye specialist looked at me like I was wasting her time when she told me that not only was my eye pressure perfectly normal, but that both my left and my right eye measured 0.0! Perfect Vision, and that at 44 years old…. She told me how lucky I was to have such good eyesight at the age of 44, as most people have reduced vision by 40.

And my business, as I said, had been having trouble. I say “had” not because the issues are solved but because I know it’s all going to be great! I am grateful for my business and how long we have been running and I see that we will grow to be successful and strong… Future staff will receive a copy of “The Secret” with their employment contract!!
