The only best friend I had ever had in my life… someone who I could never be angry with, the person I shared every interest with, who was there for every childhood up and down, and someone I could be absolutely honest with…. was a girl named Cassandra. We befriended one another around the age of 9 or 10. We lived on the same block and remained the best of friends as we grew into teenagers. However, we had a falling out late in high school years. I was still naive about all adult things and she had found herself attracted to dark music and art and struggled with her sexual preferences. She divorced me, so to speak. Since then, I had always felt a hole in my heart that only a truly best girlfriend could fill.

Now, near 30 years old, after heart breaks, losing jobs, etc, I have a close girlfriend, who is the closest I had ever been to someone since Cassandra, but I was still not complete in that portion of my life.

Summer of 2011, I came around to watching The Secret dvd. That same week, I made my first jewelry sale on Etsy.com. The buyer came from Kalispell, Montana…. and I recognized the name instantly! I wrote an email to the buyer, Cassandra, telling her it was me, and that she somehow found my storefront without realizing it. Since then, we had spoken on the phone almost every day since.

Having her back in my life after not for almost 10 years, has been just a joyous blessing and even though I still have not seen her, I have a very best girlfriend in my life again. Thank you, The Secret, for making that possible.
