My mum and her partner had sold their house and had been looking for their dream home. They found it but it was almost £20,000 above what they could stretch to do.

My mum was sad as she thought she would never get it and that she’d lost out as others were viewing it. But I told her to stay strong, envision herself working in the garden, painting the walls, and designing her new kitchen because it would be a reality then. She made an offer of £15,000 below the asking price and it was declined, the owners wanted more. I kept talking to her, kept convincing her that that house was already hers. I could hear it in her voice when she now spoke about the house. She did it with complete belief that she already owned it and they already lived there. She told me how the living space would look and where she’d put her spare furniture.

I called the agent and explained why Mum couldn’t increase her offer and she seemed understanding. Within an hour of those 2 conversations with my mum and the agent, the offer was then accepted, and my mum is now crying pure tears of happiness!
