The day my DREAM came true!
Submitted by: Stephanie P.
Ontario, CanadaI am a 23 year old female who has been strongly been inspired by The Secret. Actually The Secret changed my life, and I mean that. I own the book and DVD and practice it every day of my life.
After reading and watching ‘The Secret’ I believed in it, but never really acknowledged how powerful your thoughts and this universe are until my dream came true, yesterday. I promise you this is true.
Music is one of my most favourite inspirations on earth. Since I could remember, I have been Jack Johnson’s biggest fan. I adore all of his albums, his music style, & lyrics. I have always believed I would meet him one day, and I always told my family and friends I would, with such confidence. There was just something in me that really made me believe that I would. I can’t explain it… I just knew. My family and friends would always laugh at me saying, “Ya ya Steph, keep dreaming.” But I still knew I would. I ignored their thoughts.
I found out a few months ago that tickets were going on sale because he was coming to Ontario. I ended up buying tickets. A month after that, my sister sent me an email advising me that his website was advertising that they were looking for volunteers to work at his show to promote his “green living” campaign. Because 20,000-30,000 people were expected to attend this show, I couldn’t possibly imagine being picked to be a volunteer. The crazy thing is, is that only 25 people were picked, and “I” was one of them. Although extremely excited, I didn’t want to build up my hopes to meet him because I didn’t want to be disappointed. But I still had this feeling.
I arrived to the show that day before gates opened to the public, so the guy running the campaign could explain our duties to us. I couldn’t believe my ears when he said:
“On behalf of the All at Once campaign and Jack Johnson, we’d like to thank you for helping us out today to promote this wonderful cause. Without you this couldn’t be possible. I just spoke to Jack, and he is on his way to meet you all. We won’t have time for personal pictures with him, but we will be taking one group picture of him with the volunteers, which we will email you as a keepsake.”
As the guy was talking, I looked in the distance and could see a tall handsome man walking gracefully up to us with the nicest smile youd ever seen. It was Jack Johnson. The feeling I got in my stomach at that very moment is indescribable, but a feeling Ill never forget. It was at that very moment I knew… “MY DREAM CAME TRUE.”
I met him, talked to him, and took a picture with him with the group. I know we were told we didn’t have time to take personal pictures, but I wasn’t sure if I’d ever get this opportunity again, so I called him and asked: “Jack can I take a picture with you?”, and he did.
One person may not realize how much they’re appreciated or looked up to. That one picture might have been Jack’s thousandth that he’s taken with a fan, but that one picture was my first taken with my biggest inspiration, and I will NEVER forget that moment as long as I live.
I’d like to thank the universe for attracting such a wonderful book into my life… because it has changed my life and led me to my dreams.
For all of you reading this right now Id like to say:
Whatever your dream is, believe in it and dream big. No dream is ever too big. Don’t let anyones negativity or thoughts drown out your beliefs… because dreams really do come true… mine did on August 3, 2008.
I feel like a different person as of yesterday. All you need is to dream something big that is unimaginable or impossible in someone elses mind. Because it is the best feeling in the world, when that impossible event actually happens in your life, only because YOU believed it would.
I wish you all the best and may your dreams come to you and come true.
