So here goes! I had promised myself that I would publish this on the website. That’s because, truth be told, at times when my faith was wavering and doubts started casting shadows, I would turn to read these wonderful stories and they would instill me with immense hope and belief. I hope my story serves the same purpose to anyone looking for that little ray of hope or inspiration.

A little bit of my background story; I was working in a junior-level position for a well-known company. As is the case with any individual, you are always looking at improving things for yourself and your family. I would spend days, weeks, and months complaining to myself, my friends, and the family that I was underpaid for my qualifications and that I resented the idea of that. I was alerted by a friend about a senior level position in another department that was up for grabs. I chanced my luck and applied for it and left the rest for the heavenly forces to deal with.

I received a call for the position and a date was fixed for the interview. Two weeks later, I had already attended two rounds of interviews and felt assured of my chances of staking a claim on the job.

The day after my second round interview, I was informed that I had been selected and they wanted me to be released from my current department at the earliest possible time in order for me to join them. After listening to those words, I simply couldn’t contain myself and was beaming at the prospect. It was a dream come true for me.

The process included approvals from senior management in my department. Knowing fully well that the requirement was of an immediate nature, I simply prayed that the endorsements and approvals would happen soon. Needless to say, time was of the essence to act quickly.

Unfortunately, few months after the ‘vigorous’ waiting, the news was delivered to me that the other department couldn’t wait any longer since they had not received the said approvals and they were opening the position again for recruitment. The news paralyzed me within seconds of receiving it. I was shattered and felt like everything around me was falling apart.

Believe it or not, in the months leading up to that eventful day, I had started looking for inspiration and motivation to help me get through that intense period of waiting. I stumbled upon The Secret by Rhonda Bryne and I had ordered it online.

Now looking back, it was because of the perfect alignment of all the wonderful forces of the Universe that the fateful news was delivered to me. Also on that very day, that very evening, the book was dropped off at my doorstep.

I sat up that night and read the book and it blew me away.
The imprints of that book left a massive impact and catapulted me into a renewed sense of belief and faith. I knew that I had the power to choose what I want from life, and the ultimate key to all success and happiness is to feel good, no matter what.

I made notes of positive nuggets and self assurances and pasted them on the walls of my room. I reminded myself to not give up and to always put the teachings into practice by laying down what I really wanted. I wrote it down on a big whiteboard being sure to be clear with my requests.

Today I find myself having signed the employment contract for the senior level position. I am about to start working on the very same date that I had posted on my big whiteboard!
