First, I would like to say thank you to Rhonda Byrne and the entire team of The Secret for sharing principles to help us all make the LOA so effective and meaningful in our lives. I have come to appreciate that at the end of the day, it is all about being grateful for what you already have.

I have used the LOA to manifest many things in my life even before I ever heard it called the Law of Attraction. When I was 25, I was at work one day absolutely bored to tears and decided to write down 10 things that I wanted to own. They were all material possessions I wanted to acquire. At the top of the list was my brand new Toyota 4runner limited edition 4 wheel drive SUV. I put that list under my keyboard at work.

When I left that job 3 years later, I found my list as I was clearing out my things, and oh my god! I had manifested all 10 of them!!!

At the time, I still don’t think I fully grasped the power behind writing down exactly what I wanted and being grateful for what I already had. I must have been truly grateful because everything I put on that list came into being.

Recently, in June 2014, I told my mother that I wanted to take her on a trip of a lifetime to explore Europe. That was one thing on my bucket list to do. I promised to take her in October 2014.

Well, September 2014 comes and I realize I don’t have the amount of money I was hoping to have to make it a wonderful trip for her. Immediately I remembered the Magic Check practice. On September 19, 2014, I wrote out a Magic Check. It was in the amount of $4500 USD paid out to me for my trip to Europe. I posted it at my office and also on my refrigerator at home and on my vision board.

On September 30, my mother, who lives in a different state, called me to tell me that there was an envelope addressed to me from a company I had worked for 8 years ago. I told her to open it and read it to me. It turns out that even though I had pulled my money out of my 401k with that company, I also had a profit sharing account that I didn’t know about. I was being offered a one time buyout or I could wait until retirement and have the money put into a retirement fund for me. The buyout amount was $23,000 USD!!! I was shocked to tears!!! I received my buyout check on Dec 1, 2014. Of course, it was much easier to use my credit cards for my trip because I knew I had the check coming to me in the mail!!!

It is Feb 2015 and I am still in shock and awe about getting that money!!!! And still forever grateful for receiving it! Apparently it has been on my mother’s mind as well. She called me a couple of weeks ago to once again thank me for the trip and to ask if I had any idea why my old company would have picked now to offer me a buyout. All I could do was smile and be grateful to the universe! I will always keep that Magic Check I wrote as a reminder of how powerful the law of attraction really is.

As I get older, I realize that the things I want to manifest are experiences as opposed to material possessions. Experiences like exploring Europe with my 71 year old mother will forever be dear to my heart and soul. I am grateful for having the opportunity to do that. I am grateful for the Magic Check. I am grateful for the continued magical experiences that happen in my life every day as a result of reading The Secret and The Magic.
