Thank You For Protecting Us And Keeping Us Safe.
Every day I express my gratitude by saying to myself, “Thank you for keeping us safe and thank you for protecting us”. And yes indeed, we have been safe and we have been protected.
Although this incident dates back to December 2017 where these two simple sentences of gratitude worked so well for me and my daughter, I am sharing it now in 2019.
One day in December 2017, the left front tire of our car got punctured in our locality and 2 men who were present on the road at that moment, came to help. They helped by putting on the spare tire. During the next 2 or 3 days, due to work and other responsibilities, I could not get the spare tire replaced with a new one. On that Saturday, I took the car to a Michelin outlet to get the new tire but they were closed on that Saturday.
I returned to where my daughter was attending her classes, with a plan to stop by en route at another center to get the tire replaced. When her class was over we got on the main road when suddenly, a man driving in the left lane, started pointing at our front left tire. I immediately pulled over to the side of the road where he stopped a bit ahead of us. He got out of his car and said “Your tire is loose. Do you have a tool to tighten it?” I was shocked as I had not realized it was loose and I handed him the tool to tighten the tire. In a few minutes, he had tightened it and said, “Take care” while I was still mumbling “Merci monsieur” (thank you) to him.
Today I do not remember his face but I know he was an angel that saved our lives on that day. Anything could have happened if that loose tire had come off before we got it replaced that morning.
Thank you for keeping us safe, thank you for protecting us.
