I belong to a lower middle-class family in India where no one knows anything about medical careers, engineering, etc.
Even though my father was a teacher, he was not helping out very much in the beginning.

When I was 5 or 6 years old I was dissecting the animals that I would find around me that died from natural death. Creatures like rats, earthworms, and frogs. I did this without even knowing that bio students do this in their class projects. We had a papaya tree that I used to put small nails in. I used that tree to practice removing those nails, acting as a surgeon would, to remove bullets from real humans

Then for many years I lost a lot and got more involved in sports, I wanted to be a cricketer and I played for my state team.

Then to just avoid maths, I took biology as a subject and started to study. It was very strange as I did not know how to become a doctor or about the tough entrance exam I needed to take in India. I barely passed my 11th grade, probably my father bribed the teacher. But in 12th grade, I scored with distinction in all my subjects. That made me think I could be a doctor.

But even after passing the 12th, I did not know enough to take the pre-medical test. It took me 4 ugly years to clear the exam.
Since medical study is so costly, my father barely managed to pay for my study. I knew only one thing in my medical school, that I had to study hard to get my MD in medicine. The entrance exam to become a doctor is probably the toughest exam in India but I cleared it in one shot and got an under 2k rank among 1.1 million students.

I then decided to study Orthopedics. During my 2nd year of residency, I removed gunshot bullets from bones and operated on 8 or 9 cases per day. I loved doing surgery!

So once you really want something and focus on it, you attract it to you. The law of attraction never left me or forgot my desire, even if I did for a while. The Universe and the law of attraction works for you your entire life, whether you know it or not. Now I am an Orthopaedic Surgeon.
