When I decided that I had had enough of doing what a whole bunch of people wanted me to do and decided to take life into my own hands, something (or someone) told me to go to Hawaii. I am originally from an urban part of the world that I equate with a barren wasteland, and I needed to become one with nature. No more would I live near a city that turns human beings into nothing but monsters.

Upon stepping foot on the island of Oahu, I said to myself that I had to live here for reasons that are far too many to list but easy to imagine. I was quick to become resolute to make living in Hawaii the big life change that I had dreamed of for so long, the beginning of the happiest life a man could have.

I’ve worked in the transportation industry as a traffic engineer for just over eight years and sought similar work in Honolulu. I became acquaintances with the director of a certain organization here who intended to hire me. I returned in December of that year to find a new home, only to discover that the moving quotes that I had been given resulted in an astronomical amount of money. I had never moved before, so I did not know what to expect.

As such, I became scared and didn’t know what to do. I asked the director for six more months to prepare, which he gave me, only to be told a month into them that he could no longer hire me for backend reasons beyond his control. Not only was I scared, but I was also disappointed that my one shot at making everything happen slipped away so quickly.

It was at this time that I took solace in Rhonda’s books, all of which I have read and continue to read many times over, and I especially loved using The Secret Manifestation Cards.

No more disappointment. No more fear. I decided to be thankful to the Universe for giving me so many experiences and for getting me started on living a real life for once.  I would remind myself each and every day that happiness and good feelings are the reason that I do anything in life, no matter where I am, no matter what I believe, or where I go. I have made it my mission to encourage the world to think and live similarly.

I returned to Hawaii sometime later to speak with a certain agency about potential employment that seemed promising, only to discover that it wasn’t what it seemed in the end. But this time, that was fine. I knew and had faith that an even better opportunity was on its way. The Universe was at work in sifting the good and the bad with me in the middle so that I would know what one is by having the other.

Then, one day, I had this burgeoning feeling yet again, similar to what I felt at the beginning, to ask my current company to allow me to work remotely on a full-time basis so that I would be able to move to Hawaii. Most people would be afraid to request such a thing, but feelings never lie. I knew this one was special.

I asked and was told yes, pending additional approvals. Two months later, I was all set to go, and in December of the following year, I returned to Honolulu to seek a new home. I gave myself only a week and a half and thought I could find one, but I couldn’t in that short time. Curbing the disappointment and choosing to be thankful instead for all that had been happening up to that point, I simply asked to return in another six months to try again

Those six months proved pivotal, as I was able to prepare far more than I expected. I did absolutely everything to make sure I was absolutely ready, all while giving thanks to the Universe for everything along the way, little and big.

When I returned the next time, I signed a lease for a wonderful new apartment and had the busiest July I’ve ever had. Everything had fallen into place!

I am extremely happy and thankful to tell you that as of just a few days ago, I live in the Ala Moana neighborhood of Honolulu, Hawaii. I am indeed the latest stranger of paradise. I have the best of circumstances regarding my work, far better than what I tried pursuing before, and the richness of life is mine forever.

My next dream is to connect myself more closely to Japan to become a voice actor for video games, but that’ll be my next story. All will come in perfect time.
