“Start with something small”
Submitted by: Melissa O.
Southern CaliforniaI'm a 25 year old mother of one. I'm an aspiring novelist on the path to success.
After learning the teachings of The Secret late last year, I was excited to know I could change my life. Still, it can be a hard concept to swallow. So I started by attracting a particular penny. There were about twenty pennies on my nightstand and I pictured a penny dated 1968. I went through the pennies and there it was.
Wanting to try something a little more significant in size, I attracted something bigger. It was at my husband’s company Christmas party last Christmas Eve. He said his company held a raffle every year and he never won anything. I told him this year we’d win something.
A digital camera caught my eye and I asked him if he wanted it. He said it’d be cool to win that so I focused on it the entire time, picturing myself holding the box it was in on the way home. Every one received one raffle ticket. Two of my husband’s friends left early and gave us their tickets. We won the camera with one of our 3 tickets. I remember getting a little light headed and couldn’t stop laughing because I couldn’t believe it had worked.
Now this is totally materialistic but I wanted to start off with something believable, yet not necessarily easily attainable. It really helped to win that camera because it motivated me, and continues to do so when I want to attract something. If I’m in doubt, I think back to the raffle.
My goal in life is to be a successful novelist and I use The Secret in my own way to help through any obstacles that may come my way. But the little things help, no matter how seemingly inconsequential. It’s the small fantasies that help build bigger ones, just like it says in the book. So driving in traffic in Los Angeles, for instance, is no problem for us. I just visualize traffic clearing up and in a matter of minutes-no joke, traffic clears! It’s amazing. For anyone who doubts, remember to start with something small and just believe. Leave no room for doubt.
And that’s the secret to The Secret.
