Little Stuff Matters
I have been a loyal follower of The Secret since around 2008. I’ve read both The Magic and The Power and fell in love.
I could not believe how quick and constantly it worked. I’ve had many friends read The Secret, and just because within five minutes they did not attract luxury cars or winning lottery tickets they quickly lost their faith in The Secret. My story may not describe winning large amounts of money, or being magically healed, but I think that it really shows how much The Secret impacts your everyday life down to what you have for lunch!
Yesterday started off like any other Monday. I woke up and went to my office job. Upon arrival I could not shake how tired I was and just kept thinking how much I would love a nap and how great it would feel to curl back up into by bed. I work as a waitress at night and have half an hour between my morning job and my night job, plus a twenty minute drive between the two, so naps are nearly impossible. Well, fifteen minutes later my boss walked in and asked if I wanted to leave at two o’clock. I was thrilled. My nap was officially planned for the day.
After settling down from my excitement I began filing paperwork and realized I was getting pretty hungry. I brought a pretty standard lunch to work and was thinking of foods I loved, not just liked. My lunch fell into the “like” category. I filled my head with thoughts of fantastic foods.
And like clockwork my boss approached me and offered to take me to lunch at my favorite place in town!
The rest of my day went perfectly. I went home, took a nap, and headed to my night job. In my head I thought of making money and how good it feels to walk away with an apron filled with cash. The only hitch was the we were never busy on Mondays. I was lucky to make $40 on an average Monday.
Turns out a server forgot to come in so right off the bat I got more tables. On top of getting more tables we were actually busy! At the end of the night I sat down to count my tips out and to my astonishment I had made over $200 dollars!!!
To end the perfect night I came home to a house filled with friends and a warm dinner waiting for me. I may have not attracted a luxury home, car, or fancy boat, but I attracted everything I needed to make my Monday perfect for me.
I will never stop being grateful for the little miracles that occur everyday.
