So This Is Happy
Submitted by: Ty
Tacoma, WAI'm stubborn, not ignorant. The littlest things have been known to amaze me. My friends are my life support. I don't know where I'd be without their love. Most likely in a grave, I assume.
I’d lost a guy I’d truly loved a year ago. I’d given up in almost every way a person can. Then I picked up this book and thought, what do I have to lose? Positive thinking tends to lead to positive results, right? So, I tried to believe. And I came to the realization that everything will fall into place and there was no use mourning what could not be undone. And until that moment came, I deserved to be happy.
That’s when all these incredible people started popping up into my life. I wasn’t sure what it was at first. I mean, here was this guy who never failed to amaze me, even to this very day. Here was a guy who was sweet. Here was a guy who didn’t pressure me to make decisions, but made the choice my own. Here was a guy who… was so perfect. For me anyways. And this guy is now my best friend. That’s when I realized it was because I started defining myself as worth something, that the confidence I had inside moved its way to the outside. People started to see me as more than just the emo girl walking down the hallways. All because I started to think positively and stopped living in the shadows of others, but rather cast one of my own.
