Small Company VS MNC
In theory, I knew all of The Secret’s principles. But when it came to practice, I did none. I was morose, sad, negative and self-deprecating.
It so happened that I had 2 job interviews on the same day. One was with a very well known MNC and another was with a mid sized firm. Given the choice, people would obviously choose the MNC, right? It has everything – good brand, good salary, good reflection on your CV for future jobs?
But somehow, I felt I wasn’t “capable” of clearing even the first round of interviews of the MNC. It was a very technical post and I had long since forgotten what I had studied. So I rejected the interview offer there and decided to go to a mid sized firm’s interview.
Before I proceed, I think you should all know that I always wanted to do what this firm’s services were, on a bigger scale. I hated what the job profile in MNC was and was stubborn not to accept it just because the salary was lucrative.
So I went to the firm and we had a nice talk. The interview was more like a discussion of my interests. And I was offered a position with a salary only a little less than MNC and much better than an average “fresher” salary! And that was totally fine by me because I knew in my heart how much happier I would be doing this job than a stressful job at the MNC.
It is when I realized, no matter how much you fight it, you should always let your passion, what you love doing, be the boss and not your “practically thinking” mind.
I am so much happier, have a life besides work and enough time to pursue all my dreams! I come back home as soon as the sun goes down, spend time at the NGO, blog, go out with friends and basically have so much fun!
Truly believe in the power of “love”!
