One night several years ago Jono Brown, a musician friend, producer and drummer had a birthday party at his home and studio in The Valley. Chris Field, longtime musical friend and composer, asked if I’d come back to Jono’s and add some gospel oo’s and ah’s to a composition he just finished. Of course, I jumped at the chance. Chris has done trailer music for Lord of the Rings and other big movies and I knew it would be brilliant. I came back, sang my gospel vocal-ease and made my way home. Didn’t think about it for a couple of years.

Meanwhile, I sang at the Centers for Spiritual Living from North Hollywood to Simi Valley. I was reading the Law of Attraction and really getting into the philosophy of the churches where I was performing. Next thing I knew, this movie The Secret came out. We bought it and we went to the screening of it at the church, and we also watched it many times later.

One night my guitar player friend was talking to my husband at the time and told him he needed to relisten to the music being played in the movie. So he did. As a surprise, the next night he sat me down in the living room, turned on the movie, fast forwarded to almost the ending where the gal writes “Feel Good” in the sand and asked me to listen carefully.

It was me!! I lost it. Not only the serendipity of the whole thing and how we loved the movie but also that I was a part of it. Now this is the Law of Attraction almost working backwards. The song is called “The Journey.” It was sold to a music library and used in the movie. Chris Field and I were not mentioned in the credits but we knew it was my vocals and his brilliant composing that attracted you to use it in the movie and that’s what matters.
