Before I ever even knew about The Secret, the Universe was working for me. My parents raised me in such a way that I always knew that whatever I wanted I could get it. That was the universe working through my parents. “Can’t” was not a part of our vocabulary. It was never a matter of “I can’t do it” or “I can’t afford it”, it was always a matter of “HOW can we afford it”, “HOW can we do it?”

I remember when my 13th birthday was coming up, I had created a birthday list of absolutely everything that I wanted that year for my birthday. The list was about 3 pages long. If I wanted something, it was on that list. Some of the things on there were plane tickets to Italy, scuba-diving, and a mansion with a pool full of ice cream. One of the items was a shopping spree. I didn’t say where I wanted the shopping spree, just that I wanted one.

At the time, my older sister was dating a guy who worked at a chic clothing store nearby. The week of my birthday, my older sister came to me and said that he was quitting his job, and he wanted her to come by and say hello before he left. She invited me along for the ride and so I went. We went inside and he said, “If you want anything, just get it.” We ended up going on a shopping spree, and walking out of the store with an entire new wardrobe, PLUS some! This just shows how even when you don’t even know it, the universe is working in your favor!
