Seeing The Stanley Cup Plus!
Submitted by: Lisa
Denver, COLive life to the fullest. I love to dance and sing wherever I am.
I started off this past summer by walking over to all of the Stanley Cup Playoffs watch parties near the stadium. I was inside the stadium watch party when they won and I had so much fun. This process started my long wanted desire to lose weight, as I was doing a lot of consistent walking.
My weight fluctuates often and I thought I would be stuck at this awful weight that I had gained over two years. But I noticed my tops were fitting loosely and could see my stomach going down a bit. I started feeling more attractive again. That motivated me to walk more often and go dancing, even twice on a weekend, to keep up the great weight loss.
Last weekend I was watching the new Elvis movie and his attraction to Beale Street is the same as my attraction to dance clubs nearby, where I enjoy dancing and singing. Every week I kept hoping I would see the hockey players with the Stanley Cup at the place I dance at. They had a party there the Thursday after they won it, so I thought just maybe they will be back.
During the Elvis movie, I remembered my experience living in Vail meeting a woman whose aunt first recorded Elvis. What a fun experience meeting her and learning all about it. I loved Elvis’s songs. Then after the movie, my next thought was, let’s go dancing. You never know what you will experience.
I got to my favorite dance club, got a cranberry soda, sat out a dance, leaned against a booth seat, and looked around. The next song was the Blink 182 song that the fans always sing in the third quarter of the Avalanche hockey games, “All the Small Things.” I began to dance and sing with joy because I love the song.
The next thing I know, I look over to the right of the stage which I couldn’t see before due to the crowd. Devon Toews was holding up the Stanley Cup! I rushed through the crowd and got right up front and danced there. I took pics of him holding the cup. I took all kinds of pics of the people with him beyond the rope and booth, blocking just about everyone trying to get into that area. He looked right at my phone camera for one of the pictures! Next thing I know, I’m getting a champagne shower from Devon! I knew it burned your eyes, so I turned my back as I was sprayed and I didn’t want to mess up my makeup since I had just gotten there. He and another guy were spraying the crowd in front of them with the champagne they had just received. I also got a pic of the Keeper of the Cup. He saw me trying to get a good pic of him and he walked closer out of the crowd. I don’t know if that was intentional, but we shared a smile and a laugh after I took his pic. Not long after that, he left with the cup, but Devon and his wife and some other people with them stayed. I danced there in pure delight until the close. I was so happy I felt like I had manifested it!
I began and ended my summer “with” my favorite hockey team and got to feel the “win” one more time, which I personally very much needed. Thank you, Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank you so very much for The Secret. Thank you so very much for The Secret Super App.
