I had been reading The Secret on and off for about six years. The book found me at a time when I had lost everything. My home, my car, even my pets. I was struggling to look for work being that I moved back to New Jersey and every place was turning me down. Needless to say, I was in a negative place. A friend suggested I go to the library and look for books to help negotiate my way through interviews but I did not find any, however, I did find The Secret. It was so hard to believe at first. But I kept doing what the book instructed. I kept seeing myself in my new workplace and that’s how it all started. I even found the love of my life using The Secret.

For the past six years I was working at a job that I really loved but somehow the last four months had been hard with their new management. No matter what I did, my new manager was always finding something wrong. I had been through six managers before and never had a problem and you could feel the tension in the workplace. So I started looking for a new job and I found one. I was so elated. It was for an assistant branch manager position. They offered me the job so I gave my resignation letter with a heavy heart because I did love my company so much.

About a week after I had received my acceptance letter, I saw an email from the company that said  “Thank you for your application but we went with someone who had more qualifications”. When I read that email I was devastated. What was I supposed to do now? It was my last day of work and I had nothing. So I finished up my day and I decided once again to watch The Secret movie, as I usually do every night before I go to bed. I decided that the Universe and God knew what they were doing. I could have let myself get so sad but instead I just kept believing. I kept saying no, it has to be an error. I imagined that the response would be “I am sorry, that was an error in the email. We still want you to work for us”.

So today I responded to the email that I had received, thanking them for even considering me for this position. I also asked them  if there were any opportunities in the future, I hope that they would consider me. Well to my surprise about an hour later I received a phone call from the company that I’m supposed to work for. They said please forgive us we did not mean to send out that email. It was an error that occured when we were removing the position from the system because we had given it to you.  It happened just like I imagined!!

So really, what I am trying to say is to just believe, even if you feel a little sad. Just believe that it really works. Now the next thing I know that will happen is that is my boyfriend, the love of my life, is going to ask me to marry him. That will be my next story!
