It was my third year at college and I was struggling with placements. Only a few companies were left to visit our college for placements and I was selected in none of them. During that period I started reading books and then I came across this book, The Secret, which totally changed my life. I read the book and believed that everything that was written in it was true and started following it with all my heart. I read the book almost 10-15 times to follow all the instructions specifically.

I had given interviews for 2 companies and the results of them were due. One last company was going to visit our college which was offering a very good salary and position and I just decided in my mind that I was going to work in this company. On the day of placement, after the company gave their introductory presentation I somehow got the chance to escort the interviewers to their interview room due to an absence of volunteers assigned for that work. This gave me the time to have some conversations with the senior most person of the interviewer panel. At that very moment I believed that I was already selected for this job.

The first group discussion round was over and I did not do well in it but I was still 100% sure that I was going to clear it and so I did. That increased my belief even more. After our personal interview round was over we had to wait a couple of days before the results would be announced. To confirm for myself that I was going to be selected for it, I drew a sample of the notice that would be displayed on my college notice board to announce the names of students selected for that company and I wrote my name on top of it. I also drew the appointment letter of the company in my name. On the day before the results would be announced I thought to myself, “If I am applying The Secret to get selected in this company, why not apply it for the other 2 companies that I have already given the interviews for?”. So I decided in my mind that on the day of the results my name would be printed on all  three notices for the respective companies results.

It happened exactly I as I had thought! I got selected in all the 3 companies. And it did not even shock me because in my mind I had already believed it.
