A small manifestation taught me a majorly important lesson: You really need to detach from your desires and not obsess over them or feel desperate for them.

For my job, I’m required to be on-call after business hours one night a week. In other words, I have to stay at home in case I need to work. Well, last week, some out of state family who I had not seen in a long time were visiting my area. On Monday night they asked if I and my family wanted to go out to dinner with them at my favorite restaurant on Tuesday. Tuesday was the night that I happened to be on call. At first, I was really upset that I would not be able to go and tried to think of different ways of getting out of my shift at the last minute. That was only making me more anxious and frustrated. But then, I said, “You know what? I’d really love to go, but if it doesn’t work out, it’ll be fine. My husband gets home early that day and we’ll make a nice meal at home and have a relaxing night together. So it’ll be nice either way.”

Guess what??

On Tuesday morning, the first email that I saw when I opened my computer was from a coworker asking if anyone would want to switch on-call shifts because she needed a shift later in the month off! I asked her if she’d take my shift that day if I took her later shift and she said that was perfect! So, I was able to go out with my family, and I had the best time. We ate at my favorite restaurant, they paid for my meal and we got to spend the evening walking around the cutest town. It was such a lovely evening.

This experience taught me how important it is to surrender everything to the Universe. By realizing that you need nothing, you’ll have everything!!!
