In my earlier education, I had not been the greatest student in terms of academics. In elementary school, I had always gotten C’s and D’s and I really did not know the reason why I didn’t try. When I was in middle school somehow I got all A’s and B’s but after I moved to a different school, I dropped to B’s and C’s since I wasn’t happy with the new school. At the beginning of my high school years, it struck me that I needed to get an honour award which was for students who have an averages 80% or higher. II managed to get an honour award from grade 9 to grade 11. But then again, it struck me that I needed to get a scholar award in my senior year. So I believed in myself that I would get an average 90% or higher.

When exam week came along, I really didn’t have time to study for all my courses in such a limited time so I believed that I would score 90 percent on my exams anyway. Once the marks were revealed, I was shocked that on one of my exams I had received 90% on the dot and my other exam was 88% which I was very happy with. My overall average in my senior year turned out to be 90.5%! That means I am getting a scholar award at my graduation! Plus I’ll be receiving another award for getting the highest mark in a course out of all the students in my grade, and I will be receiving the Provincial award!
