Record Your Gratitudes And Do Not Stop!
Submitted by: Pieter van Rensburg
Johannesburg. South AfricaI am 62 years old, happily married with two kids and two grand children, one in Fort Lauderdale and the other one leaving for Utrecht in two weeks time. I am an HR Practitioner with post graduate qualifications in Industrial Psych and was previously employed as HR Manager and Corp Training manager in the mining industry here in South Africa [BHP Billiton].
My name is Pieter van Rensburg and I am 62 years old. I always wanted to have my own executive search and business consultancy service and decided to leave the corporate world in 2007. I also read The Secret when it was released and it it worked for me as well.
I always set goals for myself and assisted others to do the same as personal development stuff. I started a recruitment and business consultancy business 8 years ago. I was very busy the first two years and employed a number of staff members. Then the economy gave us a hiding in 2008/9 and I had to close offices and retrench my staff. I then worked from home designing and delivering various training courses. I focused on leadership development and NB safety mindset development. I created an OD workshop on how to work safe by yourself in the mines rather than expecting the safety department or your boss to look after your safety, assisting companies to improve their maturity levels. This was a grace saver and we survived.
I then bought The Secret, The Magic and others and started to practice the gratitude guidelines. All of a sudden business picked up and I landed a 3 year Small Business Enterprise development contract from my previous employer. It paid very well, with the luxury of invoicing as a service provider whilst my associates carried on with my training services. What a success!
After a year I stopped recording my 10 daily gratitudes and guess what? Things were getting rough again. Business slowed down as well as my health. After 4 months I started to record my gratitudes again and things changed to very positive again. We are now launching a best practice and very practical Risk And People Management software as a service in April that will rock the industry.
I can really recommend the books and learnings of Rhonda. Also consider reading other books like: The Richest Man In Babylon, Think And Grow Rich, The Greatest Salesman In The World, Law Of Attraction, etc.
Good luck!
