I bought The Secret book in March, but didn’t read it until mid-May 2008.

Since then, I continue to re-read a bit of The Secret almost every day, and its now June 11, 2008. Around May 14, I started a list to record the things I was receiving. I did this deliberately as a way to help me feel more grateful. What is amazing, is that since I started this list, I have had an entry for every single day. This week, I actually won a gift on a scratch and win card at a restaurant. Previously, I was the sort of person who never won anything. I was actually stunned when the waitress said I had won and I could pick out a small gift (essentially they were all advertising or promotional, but fun items). I picked a crazy Irish beer hat, which my husband wears with great delight!!!!

My receiving list’s entries include free dinner from friends, an unexpected increase in our line of credit from our bank for $100,000, credit balances (like $116.35) on my utility bills, winning $56 dollars on a lottery, free help from our kids when we needed it on our farm, a dozen free roses, winning a $70 free oil change for our car, etc.

These small things, not just the money but the help, the friendship, and happiness, add up every single day to make our lives truly blessed.

Maybe there were some gifts in my life that were there before and I didn’t notice them. However, my husband and I are both surprised at the sheer number of things we receive now on a regular basis. It’s gone beyond amazing at this point.

Since I first bought the book and read it myself, I now practice what’s written in the book every day. The best part for me is watching what and how I say things. I always say I have, not I want or I need. It’s become an automatic habit now.

I have now bought the DVD and my husband finally watched it with me this week. He enjoyed it as much as me.

I am grateful that this secret was brought into my life. Thank you and God bless all of you who made The Secret happen.
