I was at one of the lowest points of my life. One morning everything was going wrong, and as I was driving to work I began sobbing and screaming: “Please help me God!” That day there was a used book sale at my workplace, and The Secret was one of the books for sale. As I picked it up, a woman standing next to me said: “Oh that is a great bargain. That book costs much more than that in the store.”

I purchased it and began studying it as though I would be tested on it later. I also began studying many of the older authors mentioned in the book, Wattles, Haanel, etc. This was in November of 2007, and I first asked the Universe for $5000.00. I visualized myself making out a deposit slip for $5,000.00, I visualized myself walking into my bank and depositing the money, paying off my bills, etc. I told my family to expect it any day. I began receiving ads in the mail in the form of checks, and I posted them everywhere around the house. Then I actually received a real check for $2.00 for an overpayment somewhere. I told my family it was proof that The Secret was working.

The other night, in March 2008, my daughter was on the Internet. She’s a senior in high school and we had filled out all the required paperwork for grants. She began yelling for us to come look. She had received $5000.00 in a scholarship. I yelled out: “There it is!! There’s the $5000.00!!!” My family was dumbfounded. Now I’m so excited, because my second request was for $10,000, and my family is a little more on board this time!

I think people should realize that this is NOT just asking and receiving. There ARE certain things we need to do to clear the way for the good things to come to us, like forgiving ourselves and others, thinking only thoughts of love and gratitude, and completely eradicating any negativity we may have. But I believe this is proof of The Secret, and I am so grateful to Rhonda Byrne for bringing it to all of us. It took four months to get my first request. I don’t think it will take that long to get the second! Thank you so much!!!
