EuropeLove this life!
In January, I discussed with friends who have a female Boston terrier about breeding my male dog with their dog in the summer to have puppies. We decided it would be a good time for my 4 year old male dog to have his first litter and for their female dog to have a litter before being spayed. We planned for a litter for July.
However, in June, my friend called to say they had changed their mind and did not want to have a litter yet, as their female dog was still too young and they were worried about the puppies. I was understanding and said it was okay.
Three weeks later, my friend called in a panic because their female dog was in heat, and they needed a male dog. They brought their dog to my place, and after about ten minutes of playing, the dogs mated. A few weeks later, they called to say they had done a pregnancy test and it was negative, but I insisted that she was pregnant.
A week later, they called again to confirm that she was indeed pregnant. When the female dog went into labor, I asked if there were 4 puppies, and the owner confirmed there were.
I went to check on the puppies and was surprised to witness the female dog giving birth to a fifth puppy right in front of me. It was a heartwarming experience to see new life being brought into the world. I was teary-eyed all day, witnessing the love and care the mother dog showed for her puppies. It was a beautiful and heartwarming moment. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
