Fort Wayne, INBorn in Queens, NY. Love to travel. Taurus married to a Scorpio.
After my mother had passed away from cancer in 2002, my outlook on life was bleak. I quit my job, burned bridges with friends, and questioned life itself. “Why am I here?” and “What am I supposed to do in this life?” were questions I was faced with every minute of every day. The only thing that kept me going mentally was my strong relationship with my husband, John. Here is where my story begins:
After getting married in 1995 to John, we wanted to hold off having children for a few years to build our marriage and our bank account. We started to “try” in 1997. Two years had gone by without result, we decided to go to a fertility specialist. Halfway into the treatments, we decided to call it quits, because the money just wasn’t there and we were losing hope. And for the years that followed, the idea of “just the two of us” started to become “okay”.
Early in 2007, my sister-in-law visited our home and brought a dvd with her for us to watch. “You have to watch this. If you’ve been waiting for something in your life, this is it!” she explained. Little did I know that this dvd, “The Secret”, would change my life, for the better, forever.
The very next day, after watching “The Secret”, I put together a vision board. I included photos of travel, money, and what we wanted more than life itself – photos of conception and pregnancy. I placed it next to my side of the bed so that I could see it every morning and every night. Nine months went by and nothing happened.
Late September, my obgyn found a large fibroid at the back my uterus and highly recommended that I have surgery to remove it. I set up an appointment for mid-November. A month later, at the end of October, a few days before my husbands’ 36th birthday, I was expecting my period, but it didn’t show up. “I’m late,” I thought to myself in amusement. After waiting another four days, I decided to pick up a pregnancy test just for laughs. When my husband came home from work, I took it. It didn’t take 3 minutes to work, because in just 3 seconds, there was a big pink positive cross on the test. I ran out into the kitchen and exploded into tears. “I’m pregnant, John!” We began laughing and crying all at once. What a fantastic moment. We couldn’t believe it. Ten years of trying, of heartbreak and of pain, all lifted. John said to me, “Wow, ‘The Secret’ really does work!” The next morning I cancelled my surgery appointment and made an appointment with my obgyn for pregnancy confirmation. I am writing this at 16 weeks pregnant.
Before I watched “The Secret”, I had given up on giving birth to a baby. I am now 35 years old and my due date is July 2, 2008. “The Secret” really does work. Stay positive and visualize. Focus on what you want. Just nine months after watching “The Secret”, we conceived, naturally! Believe you can have it. Believe you deserve it. Thank you, Universe. Thank you, Secret. Love, Peace & Happiness!
