When I first read and saw The Secret, all of it sounded too good to be true. Nevertheless, I decided to give it a go and try the “feather test”.

It was a Thursday evening just after watching the movie that I said to myself, “Tomorrow I will see a red feather!” So I decided to help my visualisation with a picture of the exact feather in my mind, which I found on Google.

Then it became Friday and all day long I was longing to see that red feather. I looked everywhere expecting to see it. But nothing happened. I didn’t quit, though. I said to myself, “If this really works, then I will see a yellow feather tomorrow!”

So I did as I did the evening before, and found a picture of a yellow feather instead.

I woke up Saturday at noon and expected the yellow feather, all day long. But no feather. Nothing at all!

So I decided to give it one last go before I would conclude this as some simple mumbo jumbo…

This is what I did: I ordered a pizza online and with a small diet Pepsi, but in my mind I wished for a large Pepsi, and when the pizza man arrived, he gave me a big one, without hesitation. I smiled and thought of it as just a coincidence.

I sat down, ate my pizza, and decided to turn on the TV. So I zapped around for a bit and ended up watching Pinocchio on Disney channel. I had never seen the movie, so I watched it. In the story, Pinochio meets another boy on “Pleasure Island” whom he becomes friends with for a short time.

Suddenly it just hit me, Pinochio and his friend each had a feather in their hats – one red feather and one yellow feather.

They where just as I had imagined.

I could not believe my eyes and mind, and I actually began laughing with joy when the ending theme of the film was played!
