The Perfect Place To Live.
Submitted by: Patty Z
Milwaukee, WII am a divorced mother of two grown boys and a loving Greyhound dog. I work for the cable industry and spend my days off having the time of my life.
With the lessons learned from reading The Secret, The Power and The Magic, I have manifested many things. I manifested very specific things like a $1,000 check from my ex and a $400 mistake in my favor. Also a living room table exactly as I imagined it, free and right outside my house. And also a fun visit from a friend living across the country whom I truly missed. But the greatest thing to happen to me was finding a place to live.
I was married for 17 years and went through a pretty rough divorce. In the end, my ex wanted me out and I had to find a place quickly. I had no idea how to find an apartment and the idea of being on my own was frightening. I thought of my friend Martha who was working as a driver for a trucking company and had been involved in a terrible accident. She had a long road to recovery ahead of her and accumulated a lot of medical bills. In the process, she lost her home. She then took up residence in an upper flat of a beautiful brick building on a street near Lake Michigan. Once while she was recovering and unable to drive, I gave her a ride home. I thought the place was charming and in an ideal neighborhood. So when I was trying to find an apartment following the divorce, I thought, “Where can I get a place like that?”
Out of the blue, I got a message from Martha. She had to move in with her elderly mother whose dementia was worsening and her place would soon be up for rent! The very place I wanted. She gave me a tour and I messaged the landlord and moved in within weeks!
Now, three years later, circumstances are forcing me to move again. I had been toying with the idea of buying a condominium. I started touring places with my realtor. The very first place I looked at had everything I needed. First, a first floor for my dog who has trouble with steps. Two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for me and my son. A washer, a dryer, a dishwasher, a garage and the price and location were right. I could picture myself there, cooking, cleaning and relaxing. I toured a few other places and kept coming back to that first one. So I put in an offer but someone else beat me to it and got the place. No worries, as everyone said, a better place awaits. I started looking for another condo but kept coming back to that first one, the image would not leave my mind.
Then, months later, looking through the condos for sale on the internet, I saw that it was still available. How could this be? I asked my realtor and apparently the financing fell through for the first person who bid on it. I quickly put in a bid and obtained my dream home!
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much!
