PARKING, AGAIN & AGAIN
Submitted by: Anastasia
Naperville, ILI am a brilliantly happy wife with an undeniable soul mate. I am also the mother of a perfect three and one half year old daughter and a proud, full time employed, co-owner of a 105 year old family owned business. I am 41 years old and attribute my happiness and blessings in life to always having had a positive attitude and strong faith. Until I learned about the Secret, I was immeasurably happy. From now on I will be more than that, and knowing "the Secret" makes that possible. There are no coincidences.
I first learned of the Secret about two weeks ago at the Barnes and Nobel book store. I thought, this is along the same lines that I live my life already. It was therefore, easy for me to believe the Secret.
I purchased a copy for my sister, who at the time seemed to me to be able to use this knowledge. Especially having just had surgery, I wanted to give her a gift.
In the store, I read the excerpt about the parking spaces. I immediately focused on this and the following is the result:
The next day was Sunday, the busiest day of the week for shoppers, it seemed. I, too, had many places to go that day in the course of running my errands. My daughter wasn’t feeling well, so I wanted to get back as quickly as possible, even knowing how many stops I wanted to make that day.
I set out for the furthest store from me, Ulta, and decided then to work my way back toward home.
As I got into my car, I told myself, Okay, when I get to Ulta, I am going to find a front row spot and park there. Then I’m going to go in and find exactly what I want quickly and not have to wait in any long line. My face lit up as I pulled into the lot and saw the very first spot open for me to park in! I walked in on a cloud and found everything I wanted and didn’t have to wait in line to checkout!
Laughing to myself as I left the store, I headed to my next stop, the scrapbook place. I needed a refill of something that I wasn’t even sure they made anymore. I told myself that I’d get a spot right out in front, and find what I was looking for. As I pulled up I began to laugh at the open spot in front of the door, no less, that was vacant! I found what I was looking for and left, elated, for my next stop.
Okay, I thought. This is ridiculous! I got into my car, happier than I could be and headed for Bed Bath and Beyond. Again, I told myself that I’d get that front spot. I also imagined taking in my return item and not having to wait in the usually long line at customer service. Now, not really surprised but happier than before (if that was possible) I pulled up and there was an open spot near the front. I laughed as I got out of the car and grabbed by return item from the back seat. As I walked into the store, I saw a lady just signing her credit slip and she was checking out of customer service I was next! Ha! This is so amazing, but I truly believed it was happening because I put it out there! As I gleefully left the store, I got into my car and headed for my last stop the grocery store.
It was Sunday, mind you. So, I’m really concentrating on that spot in front by the cart return since I dread running the cart all the way back, when it’s this cold, especially! I pictured my open spot and once in the lot, I drove up and down the parking aisles more than a couple times and thought, well, he did say that it works about 95% of the time. Nothing’s perfect! So I found a reasonable spot, yet not near a cart depot, and headed into the store.
Nothing could change my mood; it was a great day. I began thinking, every day could be like this! I mean, I was immeasurably happy before, but this is like icing on the cake! As I headed out to my car with the groceries, I looked for the nearest cart depot and it was several cars away. I figured I’d just run it back to the storefront, in that case. Still laughing at the day’s whirlwind of parking space fortune, I finished loading my trunk, closed the door and as I turned around to return the cart, damn if there wasn’t a kid standing there asking me if he can take my cart for me! It was a jaw dropper. I laughed, told him that he made my day, and said thank you. He acted like, “What’s she so happy about,” and I got into my car and rushed home to tell my husband (and everyone else I could think of) my story!
The Secret will change my life. I know it already!
My motto: Think happy. Be happy.
