Painful Past
Submitted by: Heather L.
N. CaliforniaI am an artist.
We all have them; I know I do. Using your “Secret” has given me a kind of “mini-Secret” of how to deal with a painful past. I want to share it with you, maybe you can share it with the world…
Ok, here’s the thing, you are going about your day, doing your thing (whatever it may be), and all of a sudden, something you see or hear reminds you of something painful from the past. Like a film in the mind, the painful memory begins to play out, and the pain is re-lived. You cannot stop it, and you know you do not want to give the pain any energy, right? What to do?
Heave a sigh of relief, and simply say to yourself, “I am so glad that’s over.” Repeat it until the painful memory is replaced with this feeling of relief. It works! Usually takes me about three times, and the re-play of the bad memory fades like magic. If it wasn’t for The Secret, I would have never figured out this little gem. Thank you, and have a great year.
