Out of nothing. . .

B.C., CanadaI'm 33, a mother to a beautiful almost-nine-year-old daughter, and I'm engaged to a wonderful man.
I work in a video store, and have been interested in watching The Secret ever since I saw it on our shelves. I put it on once at work, but it was too busy that day for me to get much out of it.
About three weeks ago, my fiance received some news that I knew was going to greatly upset him. His hours at work had been cut down to almost nothing. We are getting married in two months, and we were already short on money, so for him to lose our “bread and butter” money was a very bad turn of events.
For some reason, though, I felt compelled to remain positive. Maybe I was just trying to be strong for him. Anyway, I brought home a copy of The Secret that night and made him watch it with me. He was really feeling low, though, and it took a lot of convincing to get him to watch it. Finally I just let go, told him I was putting the movie on, and that he could sit at his computer and play games if he wanted while the movie played.
Well, within minutes he was watching the movie as intently as I was! Ever since that moment our successes have been piling up like crazy. He got a new full-time job two days later. My boss gave me another raise (my third one in the year I’ve been with the company!). One of the contributors to The Secret, Jack Canfield, came to town and we were able to briefly meet him. I began receiving cheques in the mail, too. One was for $3.00 for a bank account I had recently closed, and one time it was blank cheques from my credit card company that I could use for balance transfers. Those made me laugh, and I realized that I would have to be more specific about the type of cheque that I wanted to receive!
So our regular life was back on track, but I was beginning to despair about not having enough money to finish paying for our wedding expenses. We are not having an extravagant wedding, but we were still short about two thousand dollars, and that would only be enough for the wedding. We had no money at all for even a basic honeymoon. I decided to aim high, and I asked the Universe for $5000. I could have asked for more, but this was an amount that I could get my head around. I said, “$5000 is now coming to me easily and effortlessly,” over and over again. I wrote it down in bright colours and looked at it every day. I talked about it to my fiance and to my daughter. I had no idea how it could possibly happen, but any time a doubt would creep into my mind I would replace it with double the amount of positive thinking.
Well, the other day my fiance’s tax return came in the mail. I was only expecting him to get $170, so I was relieved that it had gotten to us so quickly, but not excited to open the envelope because I “knew” it would only be $170. Well, imagine my relief and surprise when I saw the cheque for $1,879!!! Somehow I had made a mistake on his taxes and the government had caught it!
Now I just know that there is more money flowing my way, and I will receive it with open arms!
