Open up your mind

Mount Pleasant, TXI am single without any children. I work as an investigator of child abuse.
I was introduced to “The Secret” movie approximately six years ago by a lady that I only had known for a short amount of time. God put people in your life for a reason. After watching the movie I made a vision board and put all of the things that I wanted to receive from the universe. I had the home, the man with a list of qualities that I wanted, and an amount of money all on my vision board. I hung the board up in my room.
At this time I was living with my parents. I was working at a job that I could not move up in. I had my bachelor’s degree and I was still making $17,900/year. I asked the universe for a job that I would be making double the salary that I was currently making. I asked the universe to provide me with my own place to live.
I already believe that I was putting the principles of law of attraction to work before I was introduced to “The Secret”. I believe in God. I always prayed and asked God for things that I wanted, needed, desired. I would always give. Sometimes I would give my last to people that needed it more than I did. I would say my biggest downfall is me being doubtful after I ask for something. It is something that I am still working on.
In 2007, I made the decision to leave my parent’s home and move to a different state. It was a life changing decision. I didn’t have a job awaiting me, and I was to move with a cousin and her four children in a 3 bedroom apartment. When I got to my new destination, I worked during the day as a customer service agent; and I was a janitor at night time cleaning a clinic. These were not glamorous jobs, but they paid the bills.
In 2008, approximately one and a half years after watching the movie; I obtained my current job making double what I was making the previous year. A year later I obtained my own apartment. Last year I met the man of my dreams. He matched all of the qualities that I had put on my vision board. It is getting pretty serious.
I have some more goals that I am putting up on my board: marriage, children, and a dream home. I also like to write and I want to produce screenplays, so hopefully one day the world will be watching one of my screenplays.
“The Secret” gave me a more sense of myself. Before “The Secret” I used to think that I could not do anything on my own. I always put myself down, and believed that I was not intelligent enough to do the things that I really wanted to do. “The Secret” has opened me up in a way that made me believe and realize my own self worth. I am still learning more and more about “The Secret” every day, and trying to put the principles into action.
