I would just like to thank not only the author of the book but the authors of every story on this site, for together you have been truly inspirational.

I’ve known and practiced The Secret on and off since 2009 and it has worked wonders in my life, but for some reason I abandoned the practices and I found myself going through the hardest year of my life. I could go on and list all the bad things that happened but I refuse to give such negativity any more energy.

This lead me back to The Secret and back to it’s wonders and it’s biggest wonder of all, is of course, Gratitude!

Every morning before I start my day I write a list of things present and future that I am grateful for, one of which was a shower.

You see, our island has been going through a drought for the last year or so and water has been rationed. For months there has been no water running through the pipes and most people have to resolve to taking bucket baths. But every morning before I get out of bed I write “I am so grateful for a shower”. I would lay there and visualize taking a shower, turning on the tap, the water running over my head, the whole shebang. For weeks I did this and for weeks, nothing. But I didn’t give up.

One day there was a drop or two, the next none at all, but then randomly one day it happened! The water was running full pressure and I had a shower!

It wasn’t just any old shower it was a shower of gratitude and blessing! I was so happy!

Now our country is still going through a drought and the water still doesn’t run 24 hours a day but for the last 2 weeks it’s been on for a few hours every day. Just enough time for me to enjoy my showers of gratitude!

I am truly excited to manifest the other things on my daily gratitude list. I’ll keep you posted!

P.S. My mother has yet to enjoy a shower because she complains every day that it’s never on when she’s home! I bet the moment she stops complaining and starts to be grateful she’ll be enjoying long showers like me!
