Ni’mah’s Story.
Submitted by: Ni'mah A.
NigeriaHi, my name is Abdulazeez. I am a Nigerian and a Muslim. I am a girl. I live in Lagos state located in Nigeria. I am 17 years old. My best subject is mathematics and I like my mathematics teacher. I want to become a Neurosurgeon in the future. That's all. Thank you.
I actually didn’t know that a book like this existed. I was a girl who did not have confidence and did not believe in herself. People pushed me around like garbage, looked down on me, and talked to me like I was nothing. I actually tried to do my best to please them but it proved abortive. I have lived my whole life hiding from my true self. I literally did not believe that I could do anything great.
Then, during my graduation ceremony, the teachers gave us this wonderful book, The Secret To Teen Power. I actually wondered what it was all about.
When I started reading the book, I didn’t really understand it but when I got to the chapter that talks about the law of attraction, about how your thoughts attract what happens to you, I was speechless! That was because I had always been thinking of something bad. Like that I would fail my JAMB exam. JAMB is a Nigerian entrance examination board for tertiary-level institutions. Ever since reading the book, I started thinking positively and I passed my JAMB!! I was so happy and delighted.
Then I continued the book until I got to the page where the writer talks about self-love and he said to find love and earn respect, you have to be love and be respected. You’ve got to feel it within yourself before others feel it for you. I was emotional because I realized how badly I had treated myself.
Any time I read the book, it seems like it is talking to me.
After reading the book, I have learned to let things go, be happy, smile, love myself, chase my goal, and be me. Each word, each sentence, each page, and each chapter carries a kind of power that will definitely have an impact on your life.
I don’t think I will be able to finish the book because I read a paragraph a day and then I read it again and again!
However, I will most definitely finish it and each word will stay with me forever. Thank you!
