New Years Resolution

Santiago de CubaA fun loving person, making her life a little more Magical. :)
I woke up on the morning of the 31st of December to my laptop filled with open YouTube tabs when it hit me.
If I were to record a piece of my journey every day, even if it were just 1 minute, I could be more motivated to not fail, yet another time, due to my laziness.
I first encountered The Secret DVD one dreary afternoon about three years ago. When I watched it, I hadn’t paid much attention to it mainly because I was 14.
It was not until I heard the smartest child and her mother, my Afrikaans teacher, talk about the book. I told them I watched the film and didn’t like it that much because it bored me. Mostly, because I didn’t really understand what it was about.
My teacher and her daughter told me that the principal was using The Secret to attract the money prize from our annual school raffle, as she wanted to donate part of it to the school, and use the rest for a vacation to Spain.
I decided to go home and watch the movie again, only to find it gone. About a year later, I decided to order the book from a local book store and try it out because my principal at the time had won the money.
Since then it has been two years of trying and giving up and attracting some pretty cool things. I attracted a MacBook Pro, an iPod, a headboard and a mirror set for my room, Skull Candy headphones, a new School and a pair of Steve Maddens.
Granted, these things made me happy, and continue to make me happy, I felt like I needed something more fulfilling. It was then when I walked past a book store and The Magic caught my eye. I immediately bought it and decided that I wanted to be in top of my class.
I started but never finished countless times, and I never seemed to get past Day 3 until 2 days ago.
I got the idea that keeps me going, from watching YouTube vlogs on the internet. I decided to make my own personal vlogs that I would watch at the end of day 28 to have a laugh and see my progress.
Which brings me to the title of my story: New Years Resolution. The year 2014 is one I plan to make memorable, so memorable that on New Years Eve, as I count down 5.. 4.. 3.. 2.. 1 with my family, I look back to what I’ve achieved and be MIND BLOWN!
So far my goals are to laugh and play everyday, to get my perfect body, to do amazingly well in my IGCSEs (and mocks that are in literally one week), reach my hair goal and start IB at a boarding school overseas on September.
I am currently on day 5 and feel little differences in my life that are leading to my goals. I will post another story on day 28 and hope this inspires one of the lazy ones, like I was, to stop being okay with acceptable, and reach for unbelievable, because anyone can be ordinary. It takes a dreamer to be extraordinary!
Oh, and don’t forget to say “Thank you” to the Universe now! 😉
