Hi all. A little bit of background before I start. I have come from a sales background, so the concept of “The Secret” was not too foreign to me, but as time goes by we sometimes forget more than we remember.

Around 7 Years ago I started a business that started great, but 4.5 years later the business and myself were both broke, I had creditors and the sheriff knocking at our door almost every night, and no light at the end of the tunnel. Through this I became a sufferer of depression for a short time. “It’s no fun letting your family and yourself down.” During this time I also declared myself bankrupt.

Time went by – around 18 months – and I started to get my old motivation back, but by this stage no matter how hard we worked we were getting further and further behind. But we carried on. Then it all came crashing down. The Finance company that we had our mortgage with sent the sheriff in to repossess the family home. To compound the matter more, as I was bankrupt it was impossible to get the home re-financed even in my wife’s name, and even though the new business was in my wife’s name. My bankrupt trustees were trying to get there hands on my share that I had given to my wife 15 months earlier.

So life was not fantastic for me or my family, and we now had a 30 day notice to remove ourselves from ‘our home’. It was about then that good old Mum brought us a copy of “The Secret” DVD & book. From the moment I opened the book I had a feeling deep down inside that “things were going to be ok”. I read a couple of chapters then I sat myself and my great wife down to watch the DVD. “Wow”. I was blown away to the point that I had tears streaming down my face, and I’m one of those “big tough guys”. They were tears of joy as I felt the most warm awakening feeling I had felt in years.

This is when it gets weird… the next day we had a communication in the mail – one of those we-can-help-you ones as we had just had another judgment summons from a creditor to go to court, and those letters just fly in the mail box. But this one struck me, so I phoned the number, told them my story, and to my surprise they said that they may be able to help us out. So I think by this stage I was watching the DVD in my sleep – finally the light at the end of the tunnel. I even started to answer the phone and door again, but as the complex nature of my situation became evident, “legal matters concerning my bankruptcy”, things started to go wrong. The first finance application that they put up was declined despite the assurance that it would be ok.

But unlike before, this time I did not panic. I remained calm, which was hard because by this stage my wife was ready to throw in the towel. We arranged an appointment with another finance broker. The day of the appointment arrived, and we were just about to walk into the building – and I mean I had one foot in the foyer – when my mobile phone went off. It was the first broker telling us he had secured us a deal. As we were there, we went to see the broker we had the meeting with and he told us that my situation was so bad and dire that there was nothing he could do to help us. I explained to him that broker 1 had just called and said things would be ok. This guy actually laughed at us and said there was no way known that – in his words – “could not be done” and “I have had years in this business”, yada yada. But I had faith.

Well, that was 6 months ago. We have our home re-financed in my wife’s name and are paying the mortgage, and our finances are improving. We can now pause to regroup and move on with our life. We now also have the benefit of the life lesson of going broke, living to tell the tale, and another chance. Why? Because we did not give up, and also because of “The Secret”, which gave us the direction to navigate through those situations, and the inspiration to carry on.

Now is not the time to rest… for me, now is the time to focus on my inner self as I was not able to before because of the pressure of living through that situation. Now that I am studying “The Secret” again through clear eyes, I can see the powerful message that is written in those pages. I have the time now to delve into the origins of “The Secret” and it is as the writers have expressed throughout the DVD and the pages of the book. “The Secret” is not new or some new-age magic cure, it is as we all know deep down within us, but throughout time we have lost the massage. It is also clear to see who has benefited from the knowledge of “The Secret”, and folks, until now it has not been “most of us”.

Don’t treat “The Secret” as some guide to wealth, for the wealth that you must find first is the wealth from within. Once you can comprehend and understand that, then the wealth follows just like it is written in the book and in the DVD. Use it as your catalog to the universe then.
