My youngest daughter has cancer
Submitted by: Judy Moore
Saint Augustine, FLI am 62 and the mother of four grown children.
I was devastated when my youngest daughter told me several months ago that she had a form of blood cancer. She is just 23 years old, and was told this by her doctor after many tests. We were told that she would need chemo and radiation and hopefully stem cells, or she would die. We had no insurance or money to pay for all she would need. They more or less said she could not get the help she needed with no money to pay for it.
I had just heard about the Secret through my sister, but did not know how that was going to help us get the help my daughter needed. Well, Porshea had been friends with an older gentleman we knew since she was very small. She had sent him cards and letters since her childhood, no matter where we lived. It turns out that he had become very rich, and when she told him of her sickness he stepped in and made arrangements with the Mayo Clinic near us to treat her. She has been getting treatments for six months now and we are hopeful that she is going to get well. I only just learned that this wonderful gentleman also knows about the Secret. He has told me through exchanged letters that he has been hoping for a family to share his life with. He is moving here to be close to us and share in our lives. He says he is devoted to helping our daughter get well and live a happier life, and he now regards her as his grandchild and us as his family.
At first I did not know how do do anything to help my daughter, and I did not truly believe in the Secret. I tried to think of something small to build my belief. I asked to find a 1946 penny (the year of my birth) to show the universe would help me. After about three weeks of looking at all my change I was about to give up. Then I went to the store with my daughter and son to buy some groceries. I got a 1946 penny in my change! WOW! I still was not really convinced, so I asked again for three 1946 pennies. I found some change on the floor at work when I went to get some coffee. Six pennies and two dimes. I could not see the dates without my glasses so my daughter looked at them. She read off the dates on the pennies. Three of them were 1946! We could not believe our eyes. We both believe now that she is going to get better. I have not asked for any more pennies since. I do not need too. I believe! I know that what I ask for will come to be. I am grateful every day for everything that I receive.
